Ordination:

"Jesuit priesthood, therefore, is a gift from God for universal mission. By putting themselves directly at the service of the the Pope, the first Jesuits expressed their readiness to be sent wherever there was hope of the greater glory of God and the help of souls...since the Society conducts its ministries with a constant readiness for new service, the scope of Jesuit priestly service is universal; its aim is apostolic and it is exercised under the Pope's universal solicitude for the needs of the Church and the world."

-from General Congregation 34 Decree 6, #9.
