Pat Fairbanks, S.J.

Welcome!  I am the Director of Vocations for the Chicago Province of the Society of Jesus, which encompasses the states of Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , and southwestern Ohio .  I am happy to assist young men who are seeking a fuller, more meaningful life in service to the Catholic Church as a Jesuit.

I enjoy vocation ministry because it provides me the opportunity to meet and converse with young men who seek to discover how God is calling them to use their gifts in the service of His people.  The Lord is always active in our lives!  His call comes to us in varied and creative ways, often allied and in tandem with our own deepest desires.  Part of my role is to help a man clarify this call to religious life through prayerful discernment, spiritual direction, and familiarization with Jesuits and our way of life.  If it is clear that God calls a man to join the Society of Jesus, then I assist that candidate with his formal application process.
