Summer 2008: Six Weeks a Jesuit program
This is an opportunity to live in a Jesuit community and work in a Jesuit ministry with other men considering the Jesuits.  It is an excellent way to get a better feel for what it might be like to be a Jesuit. There are two opportunities:

1. Martyrs Shrine, Midland, Ontario, Canada.
Dates: July 3 - August 16, 2008

Participants will live with the Jesuit community that serves the Martyrs Shrine in Midland, ON, and will work along side the Jesuits in the ministry of the Shrine. This is an opportunity to experience first-hand the lifestyle of a Jesuit, to live, work, pray, and share community with the Jesuits.
In addition to the experience both of community life and of apostolic service, the program offers participants time for personal prayer, private spiritual direction, input on the history and mission of the Jesuits in Canada and around the world, an introduction to Jesuit spirituality, input on the life of the vows, and so on.
Over the course of the summer participants will assist in a variety of works focused on providing support and assistance to the people who come to the Shrine for prayer and spiritual refreshment and to learn more about the Jesuit martyrs of the 17th century who worked and died there. Of special importance this summer is the youth gathering at the Shrine at the time of World Youth Day in Australia, with live satellite feed from WYD.
Participants require the recommendation of a Jesuit vocation director.

2.  New York City (Bronx, NY; Manhattan, NY; and Jersey City, NJ)
Dates: June 20- August 3, 2008

This program is for men seriously contemplating application to the Society of Jesus. The program offers an opportunity to live in Jesuit communities, work in Jesuit apostolates, and take time for reflection, prayer, and relaxation. The 2008 program, hosted by the Jesuits of the New York and Maryland Provinces and the Jesuits in English Canada, will include meetings, presentations and a mid-program get-away/retreat weekend. Participants require the recommendation of a Jesuit vocation director.
